The Monte Cristo Cichlid, or Oscura Heterospila, has remarkable coloration with a sleek body shape.  Their bold ornate coloration and temperament make them a great addition to any medium aggressive style aquarium.  This is a rare in the hobby hailing from Central America.

Feeding: Anchor Essentials Bloodworm Flakes, Anchor Essentials Cichlid Pellets, Anchor Essentials Shrimp Pellets.

Tank and Environment:  Medium Aquarium at Current Size (40 gallons+)

Considerations:  Monte Cristo Cichlids are considered to be medium aggressive and will dig in the substrate.  Temperament can sometimes vary from fish to fish.  They are best housed with other Central or South American Cichlids of a similar size.
